Beaverhead River - 2007 Fly Fishing River Report

  • Beaverhead River as of 6/1/2007 - Medium flows out of Clark Canyon have the upper Beaverhead fishing really well. Nymphing as always is the standard fare, with fish keying in on scuds, caddis and baetis throughout the system. Streamer action in the afternoons has been awesome. < USGS CFS Streamflow data >
  • Beaverhead River as of 5/16/2007 - Open from Pipe Organ access to the confluence in Twin Bridges. The upper reaches of the river will open this weekend, bring your own piece of dirt to stand on if you are walk wading, but the floating angler should be in good shape. The lower river is fishing well with caddis and small fry imitations. Beaverhead River running report. < USGS CFS Streamflow data >
  • Beaverhead River as of 4/9/2007 - Open from Pipe Organ access to the confluence in Twin Bridges. The upper stretch is still closed until the 3 rd Sat. in May, so concentrate your efforts in the water where you wont get a ticket! Fishing well has been the word, with typical caddis nymphs, sj worms and midge patterns. Don't be afraid of throwing streamers in some of the deeper holes! <USGS CFS Streamflow data>
