Introduction to our guide staff

All you have to do is take one good long look at the cast of charters below to know you will be fishing with the best group of guides in Montana.  Four Rivers Fishing Co. prides itself on maintaining its professional staff of guides year after year.  The guides of Four Rivers Fishing Co. are concerned with all aspects of your guided fishing trip.  From the time you walk through the front door your first morning to your last truck ride back in to town from the river, we will make sure that your fishing trip will be a memorable one for years to come.  That is why we like to say around here “We don’t have clients we have friends”.  The Four Rivers guides sleep, breath and live fishing.  All of our guides live right here in the Twin Bridges area and have fished on our local waters extensively.  Unlike other operations in our area that import their guides from other states for the summer, we all work, play and fish right here in Twin Bridges.  What does this mean to you?  You will be guaranteed that your guide has fished over every inch of water that you will be fishing during your trip.  Our goal as professional guides is to make sure that when you leave Twin Bridges you never forget about us and come back year after year.  We want a friend, not just a repeat customer.

For more than a decade, Mike has honed his skills on southwest Montana rivers. You will not meet a better angler or nicer guy than ‘Stack’
Four Rivers Fly Fishing Guide Eli McIntosh

Eli McIntosh

Eli has been fishing southwest Montana rivers for more than 10 years. He's chased big trout all over the western United States since he could hold a fly rod. The Beaverhead River is his true passion when it comes to chasing trout; the quality and versatility are unmatched anywhere in the world. You will never be disappointed fishing with Eli—the entire voyage is enjoyable. His days off are spent fishing with his son in the front of his boat catching slabs.
guide chris knott

Chris Knott

If you are looking for the guide that spends his days off work chasing trout all over the state, then this might be your guy.  Chris Knott looks more like an NFL lineman than your usual guide suspects.  But don’t be fooled by his appearance, this kid wants to get you into fish as much as when he is fishing himself.  After a solid six years on the local rivers as a fishing guide Chris has learned quite a bit and will always be willing to give helpful tips so that your flyfishing techniques become more productive.  Spend a day or two with him and you will see why he has become a new member to the Four Rivers guide team.
guide Troy Buhr

Troy Buhr

Troy Buhr was born in Greenbay, WI.  He fell in love with Montana after making a random snow boarding trip here in 1996, and he never looked back.  Although he remains an avid Packers fan, he now resides in Dillon, MT as an experienced fly-fishing and hunting guide.  Troy also has a strong passion for ice fishing and lake fishing.  He has 14 years of experience fishing the many blue ribbon trout rivers such as the Yellowstone, Gallatin, Beaverhead, Big Hole, Ruby, Madison, Jefferson; you name it, he's fished it.  He also has guiding experience on the Big Horn river, as well as in Chile, South America.  When you ask him which river is his favorite, all he says is, "They all have their days for different reasons."  Troy has a very welcoming and approchable personality and truly enjoys watching others catch fish, almost more than catching fish himself.
